Running a Device
Which hardware and operating systems are supported?
AIR-075 on NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor with JetPack 7.1 and Ubuntu 24.04 is validated for 1.0.0. The platform is technically runnable on any Linux host with Docker Engine, Compose v2, 4 GB of free memory, and about 5.8 GB of disk—16 GB of RAM if the device also serves the default local model—but official support covers only the validated Advantech hardware and OS configurations. See System Requirements.
Which models does IndustrialClaw support?
The default is the local Ollama model qwen3.5:4b-q4_K_M. To use a different one, see Models. Each Agent can be pointed at a different installed model. Model IDs are case-sensitive.
I lost the admin password. What now?
Reset it on the device:
cd /opt/Advantech/Agentic/app/openclaw/.openclaw/workspace/skills/ai-agent-control-dashboard
python3 scripts/manage_auth.py reset-admin-password
What is special about the bootstrap admin?
The admin account the device ships with is the only one that can delete another account or force another account to sign out. It cannot be deleted, disabled, or changed to another role. Other Administrators have every other administrative permission but not those two.
How many people can use a device at once?
Three signed-in accounts, plus the bootstrap admin, which always has a slot. A device holds at most 50 accounts in total and 10 Administrators beyond the bootstrap one. A session lasts 24 hours, and a screen left untouched for 30 minutes signs itself out. The full table is in Roles and Limits.
The browser does not open from the desktop shortcut. What now?
The Firefox that Ubuntu installs as a snap cannot read a profile under /opt, so the shortcut cannot open it. Use Firefox's official binary instead: it runs straight from the extracted archive, with nothing to install.
Download (Linux ARM64, for AIR-075):
Extract it to /opt/firefox and put it where the shortcut looks first:
sudo tar -xJf firefox-*.tar.xz -C /opt
sudo ln -sf /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/local/bin/firefox
/usr/local/bin comes before snap on the path, so the shortcut uses this Firefox from then on. Close every Firefox window, then click the shortcut again. If it still does not open, start the services from a terminal.
The desktop shortcut does nothing. What now?
The launcher exited before it reached the browser. Run main/launcher.sh from a terminal; the message is printed directly.
Firefox says the profile cannot be loaded, or the Dashboard opens in a Firefox window that was already open. Why?
The shortcut opens the browser with IndustrialClaw's own profile directory. A Firefox installed as a snap package cannot read a profile under /opt, and a Firefox that is already running takes the request over instead of starting a new instance.
Close every Firefox window and use the shortcut again—closing the window stops the services too, and the shortcut starts them back up. If it still fails, start the services from a terminal and open https://<device-ip>:18765/ by hand. Installing Chrome or Chromium also avoids it: the shortcut prefers either of them over Firefox.
The launcher stops at Environment check failed. What now?
Less than 4 GB of memory is free. Close what the device does not need and start it again.
The launcher stops at jq package not found. What now?
A required tool is missing. Install it with sudo apt install jq.
The launcher stops at Connection timeout. What now?
The Dashboard did not answer within 60 seconds. Run docker ps -a and look for a container listed as Exited.
The browser says the certificate is untrusted. Is that a problem?
No. The certificate is self-signed, so this is expected. Confirm the address is your device, then continue.
Why can't I reach the Gateway from another machine?
This is deliberate: the Gateway binds 127.0.0.1 only. Use the Dashboard on port 18765 instead.
Importing an Agent reports missing permission. What now?
Device pairing has not been run. Run ./setup_pairing.sh once on the device.
How do I start or stop the services from a terminal?
Closing the browser window stops the services with it, so they have to be running again before a URL opened by hand will answer:
cd /opt/Advantech/Agentic/app/openclaw/scripts
./run-engine.sh # start IndustrialClaw together with the model engine—what the shortcut does
./stop-engine.sh # stop both
./run.sh # start IndustrialClaw only, without the engine
./stop.sh # stop IndustrialClaw only
Then open https://<device-ip>:18765/ in any browser.
What should I include when reporting a problem?
The device model, the installer version, and the exact message shown in the terminal or the Dashboard.
